The Apple iPhone has
combined previous technologies into one device. Before, consumers had a cell phone,
radio, musical player (CD player or walkman), camera, camcorder and a personal
computer. With the iPhone all of those separate electronics are not necessary. What
makes smartphones, such as the iPhone so great is that all the separate
electronics that consumers once used are now in one small portable device. When
you compare the first one that was released in 2007 to the current one the
difference in what the consumer is able to do is incredible. The first iPhone
didn’t have a GPS or a camera in the front screen, but the newest phones have
these features. I predict that electronics such as a camera and a personal
computer will become obsolete one day as a result of the all the electronic
technologies that are included in a smart phone.
